Additionally when receiving laser treatments at TRUSKIN CLINIC it is a requirement that the use of prescribed, post treatment products are use to maintain the health of the skin and to ensure the success of your treatments with reduced risks of complication.

With your safety as our priority, a free laser consultation must be completed at least 3 days prior to commencing treatments. During this appointment a patch test will be completed to check your eligibility for the treatment.

Additionally, a necessary requirement of laser hair reduction is to purchase a prescribed post treatment gel or a post treatment homecare kit for your safety.

WHAT IS IT?

Cynosure’s laser hair removal treatments are a medical procedure that uses collimated energy to target and destroy the hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. During a treatment of laser hair removal, the laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair; the light energy is converted to heat, which damages the follicles that produce hair. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth, leaving smooth, hair-free skin.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Our laser hair removal treatments are safe for all skin types, including light and dark skin and hair that is black or dark to light brown. However, a consultation will be required prior to treatment. Your medical history will need to be reviewed, as will any supplements and medications that you’re currently taking. From there, your provider can determine whether you’re an ideal candidate.

We welcomes clients over the age of 18 years of age of all genders, ethnicities, religions and sexuality. Those clients under the age of 18 years will need to have a consultation with a parent or guardian to discuss treatment options.

DOWNTIME

Treatment requires minimal downtime or side effects. Typically, most people will experience a mild, sun-burn-like sensation, redness and follicular swelling that usually lasts 24 hours. In some cases redness and mild swelling can last up to 7 days and in this case, please contact TSC. Activities that will put further head into the skin should be avoided for 24 hours such as hot showers, bathing, spa bathing, sauna's and exercising. Sexual activities should cease for 24 hours post treatment. No deodorant for 24 hours or makeup to the face.

FREQUENCY

The natural hair growth cycle takes place in three stages. All the hair on your head isn’t always in the same stage of growth. This means that when an area is treated, not all hair follicles will respond to treatment. It’s for this reason that multiple treatments are required to remove hair across the entire area. We recommend 4 weekly intervals for the face and 6 weekly intervals for the body. During your series of treatments the intervals between treatments before moving into a maintenance stage of once every 6-12 months.
